School evacuated in alert over sulphur smell
Pupils have been sent home for the day after a suspected chemical odour was noticed at their school.
Aboyne Academy and adjoining community facilities were evacuated after reports of a smell of sulphur coming from a cleaning cupboard at around 10.40am on Friday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four appliances and a hazmat unit to the scene.
Community facilities at Aboyne Community Centre back open as normal.

However investigations found there was no chemical spill and the smell is believed to relate to a plumbing issue.
The community facilities, including a swimming pool and library, reopened at 2pm.
The fire service left the scene at around 2.30pm.
