Woman's remarkable find on eBay

Karen Levers thought she had purchased a book with pictures of 19th century aristocrats but instead ended up with something even more interesting - images of author Jane Austen's nieces.

It was created by Irish aristocrat Lord George Augusta Hill. He knew Austen's nieces very well since he married two of them .

Mother-of-three Mrs Levers, 51, from County Clare, Ireland, bought the book on eBay for £780.

"The album is an important insight because Jane's family were so important to her, because she had no children of her own. I think the album allows us to learn more about her through her family's lives," Mrs Levers told the MailOnline.

Historians hope to create an exhibition of the photos so everyone can enjoy them.
