Brexiteer tells James O'Brien why no-deal Brexit will be good

As Theresa May faces an uphill struggle to get her deal through Parliament, one caller to the James O'Brien show on LBC, echoed what many Tory Party members desire - a no-deal Brexit.

Mickey who called in said that, "change is always a good thing". Insisting that it would be a price worth paying even if a chaotic exit from the EU crashes Britain's economy.

He went on to say to a visibly bemused O'Brien that, "times may get tough but at the end of the day we're not going to end up a third world country".

However, Mickey was left stumbling and accusing the presenter of "bamboozling" him, when his own words were used to highlighting some of the inconsistencies in his own argument.

The radio show phone-in comes on the back of a poll showing a majority of Tory party members wanting a no-deal exit rather than accepting the prime minister's deal.

Away from Westminster, The National Farmers' Union warned of catastrophe for food production and exports in a no-deal scenario; while the release of economic data shows Britain's economy is stagnating due to the drag of Brexit uncertainty.
