Google Earth image finds plane resting in sea
A Google Earth image that appears to show a plane resting beneath the water about seven miles off the coast of Scotland, near Edinburgh, was recently spotted by a man from South Yorkshire.
The plane appears to be a regional-sized airliner submerged just beneath the water. However, this isn't the first time that an airliner has been found beneath the waves in a Google Earth image.
While it's possible that the image could be real, a more likely explanation is that the plane was flying over the location at the time the picture was taken.
Google said that each satellite image is a composite of multiple images, and this can mean that fast-moving objects leave behind a remanent in the final picture.
