Everything you need to know about the new iPad Pro

Apple has introduced a completely redesigned iPad Pro, bringing the tablet’s looks and key features in line with the iPhone.

The pair of new iPad Pro devices have had their home buttons removed, creating an all-screen front panel similar to the iPhone X.

This redesign also includes the introduction of Face ID to the iPad for the first time.

The 11in and 12.9in screens are both liquid retina displays and also house Apple’s latest A12X Bionic chip, which enables faster performance through its use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.

The iPad Pro will be available with up to one terabyte of storage, while the Lighting connector has been switched for USB-C, enabling a wider range of wired connections with other devices as well as the ability to charge a connected iPhone from the iPad.

It also features boosted sensors and cameras which Apple says improves the iPad’s ability to be used with augmented reality applications.

The Apple Pencil stylus introduced alongside the original iPad Pro has also been upgraded, magnetically attaching to the iPad for the first time.

When connected, the Pencil automatically pairs and charges. It is sold separately and will cost £119.

The new 11in iPad Pro will go on sale on November 7, starting at £769, with the 12.9in model launching on the same day at £969.
