Commuters in Mumbai board packed rush-hour train from the wrong side

This is the moment commuters dangerously crossed over tracks to board a train in Mumbai from the wrong side.

Footage filmed in Dica station in the bustling city shows locals jumping down from the opposite platform in an attempt to climb on an arriving train from the wrong side.

A second train then passes through the station along the tracks where dozens of people were previously standing, sounding its horn as it brushes past them.

Mumbai's transport network is notoriously dangerous and is struggling under the weight of demand. Between 2007 and 2017 nearly 38,000 people died in train-related incidents, according to the city's police force.
