Nebraska comes up with a brilliant way to lure tourists
The US state of Nebraska's new tourism marketing campaign concedes that the state is a bit boring, yet it hopes to lure travellers by highlighting that you can escape life and create your own fun.
When you're not exactly at the top everyone's bucket list, then persuading them to visit the mid-west state, famous for its endless horizon of grass lands.
But the state's tourism commission isn't about to let that get in the way. Instead of offering the usual glitzy promotional video, they've decided to just be honest about what you can expect.
Visitors are promised "unpretentious and uncomplicated" escapes aways from the noise and bustle of city life.
The tourism commission stated: "It was important to the Nebraska Tourism staff, marketing committee and Commissioners to be true to who we are and honest about what we are not."
