Meghan and Harry delighted by unusual gift

Gifts have been pouring in for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during their trip to Australia.

Flowers, soft toys and jewellery appear to be the usual presents of choice but one gift the couple received on Bondi Beach stood out: a bunch of carrots.

Meghan, upon being handed the vegetables, beamed and said: "Oh my goodness!"

She turned to Harry and said "we've got some veggies!", to which he replied: "Fantastic".

Other gifts given by those at Bondi included a large cuddly bear and a lifeguard jacket which was presented by lifeguards from factual TV show Bondi Rescue for the baby which the royal couple are expecting next spring.

The couple received their first gift for the baby at a welcome reception with the Governor General and Lady Cosgrove, who gave the couple a toy kangaroo and joey, as well as a pair of Ugg boots.

In Dubbo, they were gifted traditional clapping sticks while at Taronga Zoo in Sydney, the pair were given platypus pins.
