Even modest alcohol consumption can increase risk of premature death

Recent research from the Washington University School of Medicine suggests that even modest regular alcohol consumption can increase the risk of premature death.

After analysing data from more than 400,000 people aged 18-85, the researchers found that consuming one to two drinks four more times per week increases the risk of premature death by 20% compared with drinking three times a week or less. The increased risk of death was consistent across age groups.
