Woman pushed to ground in handbag robbery

A woman was pushed to the ground and had her handbag stolen in Dundee.

The incident happened at around 6.30pm on Friday in the Lochee area.

She was followed along South Road by a man and was thrown to the ground by him as she approached Ross Gardens at its junction with Elmwood Road.

Her cream coloured handbag was stolen and the culprit fled on foot back towards South Road before being lost from sight.

The 56-year-old suffered minor injuries during the robbery, but did not require medical attention.

The man is described as being aged in his thirties, 5ft 8ins tall, wearing a dark jumper with hooded top underneath the jumper.

The hood had lime green lines all over it in grid type pattern.

He was also wearing blue denim jeans.
