Child rescue alert issued for missing 12-year-old boy
A child rescue alert has been issued for a 12-year-old boy who went missing two days ago.
Officers are "urgently" trying to find Dre Wilson who was last seen shortly after 9pm on Friday running along Harby Lane in the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire Police said.
The young Afro Caribbean boy with bleached blond hair had been living in the county for around a month and has connections to Staffordshire and the West Midlands, police said.
Sergeant Chris Day said: "Dre has only just turned 12 so is obviously very young and we are naturally very worried about him because of his age.
"We would really like to find him as quickly as possible to make sure he is safe and well."
Dre, who is 4ft 6ins, slim and has his ear and nose pierced, was wearing a green khaki coat, black skinny jeans with rips on both knees, a white shirt and light brown slip-on shoes and carrying a blue rucksack when he was last seen.
Jo Youle, chief executive of the charity Missing People which is involved in the partnership which issues the alerts, said: "We hope that by launching a Child Rescue Alert at the request of police, we can help in the swift and safe return of Dre Wilson."
Anyone with information is asked to call 101.
