Drunk teens stole bus before crashing it

Two drunk teenagers stole a bus and took it on a nine-mile joyride before crashing into a hedge, a court has heard.

Harry Atley, 19, and Thomas Bloomfield, 18, took turns at the wheel as they shouted: "We've just stole a bus, we've f***ing stolen a bus."

They wrote off the £75k, 41-seat vehicle when they crashed it, The Metro reports.

CCTV footage shows them boarding the Pulham and Sons bus in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, on November 18 last year.

Home curfew with electronic tags

After pleading guilty at Gloucester Crown Court to aggravated vehicle taking and dangerous driving they were handed down eight-month detention sentences, suspended for one year, and ordered to pay £10k compensation to the bus company.

The pair, from Tetbury, were also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work each and will be on home curfew with electronic tags from 8pm-5am every night for six months.
