Prince George already resentful of the press, says royal expert

It’s no secret that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are trying to give George, Charlotte and Louis the most ‘normal’ childhoods possible – but, arguably, the most abnormal aspect of their royal status is glare of the world’s media.
“Their privacy is invaded and it really is a problem,” royal historian Kate Williams tells Yahoo UK.
Exclusive photos of Prince George, five, and Princess Charlotte, three, can earn photographers upwards of £30,000, meaning that wherever the young royals go, the paparazzi pack is never far behind.
“Already you can see in George, a little bit of uncertainty and a small bit of resentment towards all the cameras,” Williams explains during episode five of ‘The Royal Box’.
When Prince Louis was born in April, George and his sister Charlotte arrived at the Lindo Wing to visit their younger brother, and were met by a wall of flashing cameras.
Williams – who was part of the waiting press – said: “I think [George] did look a bit scared of the cameras.”

The presence of the press is something George’s father, Prince William, is all too familiar.
His mother, the late Princess Diana, had well-known battles with the paparazzi and often pleaded with the press to leave her children.
“It’s going to be even more difficult as he gets older,” Williams says. “He doesn’t quite understand now, but when he’s twelve, thirteen, he will.”
