What the papers say - July 7

Two stories feature prominently in the Saturday papers: Cabinet agreement on Britain's exit from the European Union and hopes that England won't be making an exit from the World Cup as they take on Sweden.

The Times leads with suggestions that Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson will be sacked if he rebels, now that a Brexit deal has been agreed by the Cabinet.

The Daily Telegraph also reports on the Brexit deal thrashed out at Chequers, saying ministers have agreed a plan which will see the UK keep "close ties" with the European Union.

"A nation awaits", reads the front page of the Guardian for its coverage of the football, while its main story says a "soft Brexit" plan has been agreed.

The Financial Times also runs with Brexit - saying that Theresa May has "faced down Cabinet rebels".

The i refers to the Leave slogan "taking back control" for its headline of the Brexit coverage.

The Independent says that Mrs May has put Brexiteers in their place and leads with a story about US president Donald Trump's visit to the UK.

Harry Kane appears on the front of the Daily Mirror, as England prepare to face Sweden.

The Daily Mail warns that voters will "desert" Theresa May if her Brexit deal goes too far.

The Daily Express reports that Donald Trump is to offer the UK a "zero tariff trade deal".

While the Daily Star reports on "banana drama" as a tropical virus threatens supplies of the "yellow curvy favourite".
