Last week, eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot a never-before-seen snap of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the Queen‘s Audience Room at Buckingham Palace.

In the backdrop of a photograph taken of Her Majesty greeting Australian High Commissioner to the UK, George Brandis, stood a romantic image of the newly-crowned Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

But in a bizarre turn of events, the framed photograph of the newlyweds has been removed.

A newly-released image of the Queen meeting composer, Thea Musgrave, shows that the picture has been replaced with one which depicts her grandsons, Harry and William, in military uniform.

However, before jumping to conclusions it is important to remember that the Queen regularly moves her photographs around.

And there is no denying the new bond forged between Meghan and her grandmother-in-law.

The pair are currently planning a road trip to Cheshire on 14 June where they will unveil Mersey Gateway Bridge in Widnes before officially opening the Storyhouse Theatre.

According to sources, the Queen has even gone so far as to invite Meghan onto her royal train for the very first time. The nine-carriage sleeper train dates back to 1977 and has previously been used during the Silver Jubilee tours. We challenge you to name a better way to spend some quality with Her Majesty away from the glare of the public eye.

Though it will mark their first joint engagement, the royal duo have attended a handful of events together in recent months.

They were first photographed on Christmas Day alongside other senior members of the family at Sandringham before Meghan made her debut appearance at the Commonwealth Day Service back in April.
