Cadbury recreates Windsor Castle chapel

Cadbury has marked the forthcoming royal wedding by creating a 110lb (50kg) chocolate replica of part of Windsor Castle - complete with handcrafted soldiers wearing bearskin hats.

Expert chocolatiers have put the 2ft 6in (75cm) tall creation, which took four days to make, on display at the Cadbury World visitor attraction in Birmingham.

Fashioned using a mix of milk and white chocolate, the design depicts the front facade and turrets of Windsor Castle - with St George's Chapel visible in the background.

Said to comprise the equivalent of 1,111 bars of standard Cadbury's Dairy Milk, the castle's bricks have been individually hand-scored alongside an intricate coat of arms and chocolate flowers.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: "Our chocolatiers never fail to create something fit for royalty to celebrate a special occasion, but I think the chocolate Windsor Castle may well be their crowning glory.

"The scale of the construction and its minute details make it one of the best yet.

"We look forward to sharing the creation up-close with Cadbury World visitors and wish Prince Harry and Meghan a wonderful and very happy life together."

Cadbury has previously crafted a chocolate rocking horse for the birth of Prince Louis, a chocolate pram for Princess Charlotte, and a chocolate cot with a range of toys for the birth of Prince George.
