Man charged with murder after mother found dead in west London home

A man has been charged with the murder of his mother after she was found dead at her home in west London.

Majid Butt, of Gade Close, Hayes, is due in court accused of killing 71-year-old Onees Khatoon, who lived at the same address.

The 51-year-old will appear at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Scotland Yard said a post-mortem examination held on Monday had proved inconclusive.

Officers are awaiting the results of further tests.
