Real-life Sonic the Hedgehog rescued after getting covered in blue paint

This hedgehog somehow got turned into a real-life Sonic. The animal has been rescued by RSPCA West Hatch, after by being covered in blue paint.

The hedgehog was found in a garden in the town of Taunton in Somerset. The RSPCA took the animal in and made 'Sonic' her official name.

Clara Scully, RSPCA animal collection officer, said: "We're unsure what happened to her, whether she was painted intentionally, or if she fell into the paint somehow."

The paint was rubbery and difficult to remove, leaving Sonic with a blue tinge and sore patches that must be monitored.

But staff at the animal charity are glad she's eating well and getting the help she needs.
