Bungling burglars chase cash as wind blows it away

Two bungling burglars have been caught on camera leaving the scene of a crime with cash trailing behind them.

CCTV footage of the robbery in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, shows one of the men crouching in front of oncoming traffic as he tries to stop the money falling from his trousers.

Moments later he is seen scrambling in the street to pick up his diminishing haul.

His accomplice can be seen chasing after the cash as the wind blows it away.

Shortly before 1pm on Saturday March 17, two men went into a travel agents in Queens Walk, threatened members of staff and demanded money, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The employees handed over cash, which the men stuffed down their trousers before fleeing towards Craven Street, where they got into a silver car.

Detective Constable Phil Scargill said: "This duo threatened innocent people working in the travel agents and should know their actions are utterly unacceptable.

"We would like to speak to the two men in the CCTV footage in connection with this incident, but we need the public's help with this.

"I'd urge anyone who saw something that stood out from the ordinary that day, or who caught sight of the offenders as they fled from the travel agents, to please get in touch with police and share what you know."
