What the papers say - March 1

Snowy scenes continue to dominate the front pages on Thursday, as well as photos of the royal "Fab Four".

The i runs with the headline "Whiteout Britain", and warns Storm Emma is set to bring even more misery for travellers.

The "worst snow for 30 years" is coming, warns the Daily Express, while The Guardian features a striking image of Londoners braving the snowfall in the capital.

The paper leads on political matters, however, reporting that the Prime Minister is facing growing pressure to spell out how she aims to avoid a hard Irish border in her upcoming Brexit speech.

The Independent reports that former Tory PM John Major launched a "devastating attack" on Theresa May on her approach to Brexit, running with the headline: "Major problem for May".

The Times also leads on Brexit, saying that David Davis had "threatened" Brussels over the Irish border dispute.

It also carries a snap of Meghan Markle alongside the Duchess of Cambridge, as the pair joined their respective partners for their first joint engagement.

The Daily Telegraph features a similar photo, while the Metro carries one of all four.

Both papers run with a main story about the Irish border issue.

Elsewhere, the Daily Mirror reports on the collapse of two retail giants, Toys R Us and Maplin, branding it: "Heartbreak on the High Street".

The Financial Times carries the same story, saying that a "freeze" on the high street has put thousands of jobs at risk.

The Sun and the Daily Mail both report that police are to "assess" a dossier on privacy campaigner Max Mosley.
