Man denies unlawfully killing young woman who fell from car bonnet

A 19-year-old man has denied the unlawful killing of a young woman who died in hospital after falling from a car bonnet.

Eleanor Underhill, 20, died a week after suffering head injuries in the car park of a Tesco Extra store in Dudley, West Midlands, on Boxing Day in 2016.

Luke Hickman, of Wassell Road, Wollescote, Stourbridge, pleaded not guilty to a charge of manslaughter during a hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court.

Hickman was granted bail and ordered to reappear at the same court for trial on August 13.

At the time of Miss Underhill's death, her family released a statement describing her as the "life and soul of everything".

"Our beautiful daughter Eleanor Jane Underhill was such a bubbly, lively girl and the life and soul of everything; she truly lived life to the fullest," the family members said.
