Car crashes through barrier on to beach

A car smashed through a barrier and rolled on to its roof on a popular beach.

The white Hyundai landed on Grand Parade on Longsands beach in Tynemouth, Tyne and Wear, but it is believed nobody was in the vehicle at the time.

Northumbria Police said there had been no injuries and the fire service were at the scene.

We were called to this earlier today but thankfully it appears nobody was in the car at the time and there haven't been reports of any injuries. @Tyne_Wear_FRS are at the scene to recover the vehicle now ? ?

A police statement said: "At around 10.15am police received a report that a car had gone through a barrier and landed on its roof on Grand Parade in Tynemouth.
"Nobody was believed to be in the vehicle at the time of the incident and nobody has been injured."
