Man arrested in murder inquiry after woman found stabbed in street
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found stabbed in a residential street, police said.
The 44-year old victim was discovered just after 7pm on Wednesday in Norfolk Road in Ilford, east London and pronounced dead at the scene.
A 45-year old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the early hours of Thursday morning in nearby Newham, Scotland Yard said.

The woman's family was informed but a formal identification has yet to take place.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the cause of death, a Metropolitan Police spokesman added.
