Arthur Gumbley was punched in the face and then kicked while on the floor during the ordeal, which happened shortly after 10pm on November 21, Staffordshire Police said.

The force have now released images of two men who they believe know the whereabouts of the items stolen from Mr Gumbley.

Four people arrested in connection with the attack on Mr Gumbley at his home in Endwood Drive, Sutton Coldfield, have been released on police bail after questioning.

National charity Crimestoppers has offered a reward of up to £10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the pensioner's death.

Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Dan Ison said: "We have had a great response from the public and the information has helped us move nearer to closing this case.

"However the information we have received so far has been from an anonymous source, preventing us from taking a statement and building a solid case."
