Edinburgh and Essex are the big winners this month in the Premium Bonds, with both raking in the big bucks.

This is only the second time the top prize has been won in Edinburgh, meanwhile the lucky Essex winner is the 13th person from the county to pick up a cool £1 million.

The Scottish winner was a woman with a total of £15,500 in Premium Bonds holdings and the winning number was 237VM129960, bought in January 2015 as part of a £15,000 purchase.

It was a man who took the top spot in Essex with a total holdings of £40,000. It was lucky Bond number 233ZP420674 which won this month - it was bought in October 2014 as part of a £27,000 purchase.
