Borough Market's evening of cheese was probably the most middle class 'disaster' you can get

Updated:

If you're a Londoner who's partial to a bit of cheese, chances are you moseyed on down to Borough Market to attend their evening of cheese. In fact, it was so popular that people all over the land travelled to get their hands on some fromage. However, what was set to be a glorious evening of dairy soon turned into a disaster, and cheese-lovers are fuming.

There were indicators that Wednesday evening's event was going to be popular: namely the fact that 49,000 people expressed their interest on Facebook and 18,000 clicked attending. If you haven't been to Borough Market, FYI it definitely can't fit that many people.

So, the evening of cheese was a bit more like an evening of crowds.

Don't underestimate the sheer amount of people who turned up to sample some cheese.

And safe to say cheese aficionados were mad vexed at the disorganisation of the event.

What was meant to be a delightful evening was instead stressful carnage.

Which is understandably a shame, because cheese = life.

But because cheese was involved, the inevitable puns soon came rolling in.

And some people didn't seem to be taking the situation seriously - we think we might detect a *hint* of sarcasm from some.

Borough Market were understandably sad about the widespread cheese disappointment.

With everything that's gone down this year, this is most definitely the most middle class debacle we've come across.
