Former prime minister Tony Blair is deluding himself if he believes he has support for a comeback in British politics, according to a new poll.

Mr Blair, who led the Labour Party in government from 1997 to 2008, is said to be critical of both Prime Minister Theresa May and Opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn, amid concern that Brexit negotiations are being 'screwed up'.

But in a poll of more than 5,000 AOL users, the return of the leader who dragged Britain into a disastrous war on Iraq, was firmly rejected.

Asked 'Do you welcome Tony Blair's return to British politics?', 88% said 'No thanks, we don't want him or need him', while only 12% agreed that he'd been 'sorely missed'.
