Mark Zuckerberg: Animals taste better 'when you hunt them yourself'

Only eat meat if it's organic and free range? You aren't the only one.

The planet is increasingly source-conscious in its eating habits, so perhaps it isn't all that much of a surprise that Facebook founder and tech entrepreneur, Mark Zuckerberg, has suggested that meat tastes better when you hunt it yourself - (see 9mins 55 seconds in).

In a Facebook Live session streamed from the comfort of his Paolo Alto back yard, Zuckerberg cheerily spoke about his love of smoking meat, with two impressive smokers humming away in the background.

But things took what some might describe as a controversial turn when the internet billionaire suggested the best flavour comes from hunting the animal in person.

He said: "Half of the joy is things taste better when you make them yourself, and they taste doubly better when you've hunted the animal yourself. So that I think - whether you're fishing for the salmon, or going hunting for a boar - that's a big part of it. You feel more connected to what you're doing and what you're eating when you cook it yourself and it's this whole experience."

Right... well, time to get the bow and arrow out then, we suppose?

On second thoughts, maybe we'll just stick to organically smoked courgette. It's probably safer.
