Prepare for an overload of cute: Prince George and Princess Charlotte have arrived in Canada

Chances are most of our childhoods were full of mud, mess and chucking the occasional wobbly. Not so for Prince George and Princess Charlotte, who have arrived in Canada looking as cute and perfect as you like.

At the start of the royal family's hotly anticipated eight-day visit to the Commonwealth country, the Duke of Cambridge said his children were beginning their own "lifetime of friendship" with Canada as Prince George took his first tentative steps in the country.

So because we all deserve it, let's dive into the adorable pictures of Wills and Kate's adorable tots.

Could they be any cuter? Let's talk outfits: George is rocking those knee-high socks, and we are actually really jealous of Charlotte's blue mary janes.

Notice how Kate, Charlotte and George are all wearing complimentary shades of blue - we love that kind of matching. Let's take a closer look, shall we?

That bow! Really completes the look. So what about George?

Wills and Kate are looking pretty dashing themselves.

Last time the couple were in Canada they had been married for just three months. During a ceremonial welcome in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, William said: "The warm welcome that you gave us at that important moment in our lives meant a lot to us - and we have never forgotten it.

"That is why we are so pleased that George and Charlotte can be with us in Canada this time round, beginning their own lifetime of friendship with this wonderful country."

This is Charlotte's first official royal visit, whereas her older brother is old hat. George travelled to Australia and New Zealand with his parents in 2014 when he was just nine months old.

It wasn't just the kids who were bringing it in the fashion stakes: Kate wore a beautiful Jenny Packham dress, and we particularly loved the Queen's diamond maple leaf brooch she sported. They were greeted by Canada's prime minister Justin Trudeau and his wife Sophie Gregoire, who was stylish in purple with a jaunty matching hat.

The prime minister joked with William and Kate, saying: "As any parent travelling with children knows, it's a whole different experience when you bring your family with you.

"I want to commend you and thank you for introducing our part of the world to Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Although let me caution you from my own experience, if they are anything like our kids, getting them back on the plane after a visit to our beautiful west coast will really be a challenge."

Luckily it wasn't all work for the children, as they managed to get some rest while their parents did their official duties.
