Police hunt mysterious driver behind paintball shooting spree in London

Nearly 20 people have reported being shot with a paintball gun by a mysterious driver as they walked down the street.

Police received at least 18 calls from men and women on Friday saying they had suffered bruising after being shot by a man driving a white Mercedes 350GLE.

Scotland Yard have said the calls came from different parts of north London between 9pm and 11pm.

Officers believe that the man, who was driving with false number plates, began his shooting spree on Camden Road, before moving through Archway, the back streets of Holloway, Prebend Street in Islington, Clerkenwell and Canonbury. The last report came from close to St Paul's Road.

A CCTV image has been issued of the car on the road and police have described the man as white and aged in his 40s.
They also say that the car has been seen parked in the N1 and EC1 areas of Islington.
