Man, 21, charged with murder of Jairo Medina in London's Hyde Park

A 21-year-old man charged with murder following the death of a man in London's Hyde Park will appear in court later.

Hani Khalaf of no fixed address is accused of murdering Jairo Medina, 62, who was found injured by a member of the public at the tourist hotspot.

Khalaf, who was arrested and taken into custody on Thursday, is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court.

Mr Medina, a professional carer from Chelsea, was the victim of an assault but a post-mortem examination carried out last week did not ascertain a cause of death.

Officers were called to Hyde Park at around 5.50am on August 12 after a member of the public found a man with injuries close to Speakers' Corner. The man was dead when officers arrived at the scene.
