A new Wetherspoons pub has banned customers from wearing tracksuits
JD Wetherspoons - a chain of restaurants where you can buy a beer and a burger for close to a fiver - has just banned tracksuits in one of its pubs.
The recently-opened Wetherspoons in Chatham, Kent, called The Thomas Waghorn has introduced a dress code which omits customers from wearing tracksuits.
Manager Peter Pethers told KentOnline the policy, which also prohibits baseball caps, is essential for creating the right vibe in the new pub.
The JD Wetherspoon chain itself does not have an official dress code, noting on its website that customers must remain fully clothed and with shoes.
It does, however, state that "some pubs do operate specific dress code at all or certain times".
