Two dead after shooting in Norfolk village

A man and a woman have died in a shooting in a village near King's Lynn.

The pair, both aged in their late 40s, were found dead just after midnight on Tuesday in Magdalen, Norfolk police said. The man was found in the front garden of a house in Stow Road, while the woman was found inside.

Detective Superintendent Paul Durham said: "We are in the very early stages of the investigation and while I understand how shocking the news of this incident must be for neighbours of the two people involved and other local residents, I can reassure them that we are putting all our efforts into establishing the circumstances surrounding their deaths."

Neighbours said they believed the man and the woman who died were a couple.

Forensic teams are searching the house, and the road to the property remains closed while investigations continue.

Concerned parents of children from nearby Magdalen Village School took to Facebook after the road leading to the school, Park Crescent, was temporarily closed.

A member of staff confirmed this morning that traffic was being allowed in and out of the school.
