Recipe books from Mary Berry and Ella Woodward also made the top 10, as well as two colouring books - Millie Marotta's Animal Kingdom and one based on Harry Potter - and Marie Kondo's The Life Changing Magic of Tidying, which has become a bestseller on five continents and earned Kondo a place on Time Magazine's list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

The Beatles were one of the top streamed artists on Amazon Prime in a top 10 dominated by British artists including Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, Little Mix and David Bowie.

Amazon UK country manager Doug Gurr said: "We now offer more than 150 million products, and this report provides a helpful guide to this year's hottest sellers so far.

"We've seen growing popularity in everything from kitchen gadgets like home-smoking ovens and foodie books, to garden gear like solitary bee hives and pollinating bee logs."
