Boris Johnson has ruled himself out of the race to be the next Conservative leader and prime minister saying "it cannot be me".
Mr Johnson, who was the bookies' favourite to succeed David Cameron made the shock announcement after fellow Brexiteer campaigner Michael Gove put himself forward as a leadership contender.
The other contenders for the Conservative leadership are Stephen Crabb, Liam Fox, Andrea Leadsom and Theresa May.
The first ballot of MPs will be held on Tuesday.
