Parents of 'Jihadi Jack' accused of funding terrorism get bail

Updated

The parents of the Muslim convert dubbed Jihadi Jack who landed in jail "for the love of their son" have been granted bail by a senior judge.

John Letts, 55, and Sally Lane, 54, of Chilswell Road, Oxford, are facing trial for allegedly funding terrorism by sending money to Muslim convert Jack Letts, who is believed to have joined Islamic State in Syria.

The pair were remanded in custody last Thursday when they made their first appearance before Westminster Magistrates' Court to face the charges.

On Tuesday, Mr Justice Saunders acknowledged the "desperate" situation they find themselves in and granted them conditional bail following a hearing at the Old Bailey.
