Alan Rickman's last film Alice Through The Looking Glass premieres in London

Updated

Johnny Depp, Sacha Baron Cohen, Tim Burton and Mia Wasikowska have a very important date as they hit the red carpet for the European premiere of Alice Through The Looking Glass.

But conspicuously absent from the premiere for the sequel to 2010's Alice In Wonderland will be Alan Rickman, who died in January - making this his final film.

Rickman stars as the hookah-smoking Blue Caterpillar, Absolem, a role he played in Alice In Wonderland.

The sequel, based on the novel by Lewis Carroll, picks up with Alice Kingsleigh (Wasikowska) three years after we last met her.

Having returned from sailing the high seas, she re-encounters Absolem, finds a magical looking-glass, and returns to the nonsensical realm of Underland.

The film sees Baron Cohen's debut as Time, a creature who is part-human and part-clock.

Director James Bobin will also attend the premiere in London's Leicester Square.
