Desert dilemma for Matt LeBlanc as he takes car for a spin in Morocco

Updated

A new teaser trailer for the BBC's revamped Top Gear series shows Matt LeBlanc struggling to get to grips with a powerful off-road car.

The presenter has trouble getting into the Ariel Nomad and ends up with his leg sticking out in a scene in the trailer, which aired on BBC One.

When he finally gets in to the unusual vehicle, the former Friends star declares: "A door would be nice."

LeBlanc, 48, is then seen racing the Nomad through the sandy terrain of the Moroccan desert and ends up covered in dust from head to toe.

The US actor was announced as one of the new faces of Top Gear in February.

He will co-host the popular motoring series alongside Chris Evans, who was unveiled as a presenter in 2015 following the departure of Jeremy Clarkson.

The trailer is one of a number of promos being released in the run up to Top Gear's re-launch in May.

An earlier preview featured an array of supercars and classic automobiles - from the McLaren 675LT and the Ferrari F12 TDF to the three-wheeled Reliant Rialto.

The likes of the Aston Martin Vulcan and Zenos E10 were also put through their paces around the track.

The clip also showed Evans, 50, looking a bit queasy as co-presenter Sabine Schmitz took him for a spin - and she was forced to pull over and let him out of her pristine red Audi R8 to be sick.
