A man has been charged with the murder of a woman found stabbed to death less than six minutes after police received an emergency call from a woman in distress.
Officers were dispatched to the property on Gosford Way, Felixstowe, Suffolk, at 10.30pm on Wednesday after receiving the 999 call.
On arrival just over five minutes later they found a woman in her 60s who had suffered serious injuries.
Paramedics were called to the scene, although the woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead.
A Home Office post-mortem found the woman had died of a single stab wound. Formal identification is yet to take place.
Shaun Ryan, 61, also of Gosford Way, has been charged with murder and will appear at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on Monday.
