Rapper Drake set to dance to top of the charts

Updated

Canadian rapper Drake is poised to dance to the top of the charts with his first solo number one and knock Mike Posner out of prime position.

The singer is set to grab the top spot with his offering One Dance featuring Wizkid and Kyla on the Official Singles Chart on Friday.

His second new song Pop Style is due to enter the Top 40 and is currently at 28, the Official Charts Company said.

Drake has previously only enjoyed a UK number one as a guest artist on Rihanna's What's My Name in 2010.

Posner's I Took A Pill In Ibiza has slipped to number three while Sia's Cheap Thrills holds on to the second spot.

Fifth Harmony's single Work From Home is at number four and Zara Larsson's Lush Life is at five.

The Voice winner and former Liberty X singer Kevin Simm enters the charts at number ten with All You Good Friends after his victory in the show's final on Saturday.

American metal band Deftones hope to snatch the top spot on the album chart with their record Gore, but face stiff competition from The Lumineers' Cleopatra and All Saints' comeback album Red Flag.

Adele's album 25 and Lukas Graham's self-titled record are set to round out the top five.

Eight new albums are due to enter the official albums chart top 40, with Frightened Rabbit, Bellowheard, Eliza and the Bear, M83, Ben Watt, Teleman, Black Peaks and Parquet Courts all releasing new offerings.
