Murder police arrest man after human remains found in search for missing officer

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of a serving police officer who visited the Shard on the day he went missing.

Pc Gordon Semple, 59, was last seen on Friday April 1, and had left his home in Greenhithe, Dartford that morning to go to work in Westminster.

Scotland Yard said human remains have been discovered and a 49-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
