Tony Blair's brother to judge case relating to Libyan investment body

A High Court judge who is the brother of former Labour prime minister Tony Blair is due to oversee litigation relating to a Libyan investment authority set up during the last years of the reign of dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

Sir William Blair, who became a High Court judge eight years ago and took the title Mr Justice Blair, is scheduled to analyse evidence at a High Court hearing due to start in London on Monday.

The Libyan Investment Authority - set up to invest Libya's oil wealth - has sued Goldman Sachs International after complaining of being pushed into investments. Goldman Sachs disputes the authority's claims. Detail of that litigation was first aired at the High Court in London in 2014.

Mr Justice Blair is expected to be asked to make rulings about who runs the investment authority at next week's hearing.
