Jeremy Hunt to deliver statement on junior doctors' contract to MPs

Updated

Jeremy Hunt will deliver a statement to the Commons on the junior doctors' contract after the Government failed to reach a deal with the British Medical Association (BMA).

The Health Secretary is expected to say talks have failed and a new contract will be imposed on doctors from the summer.

The Government made a "best and final" offer to the BMA on Wednesday afternoon as thousands of doctors were on strike, which was rejected.
