Ex-EastEnders actress murder suspect remanded by Ghana court

Updated

The boyfriend of ex-EastEnders actress Sian Blake has appeared in court in Ghana, facing extradition to the UK where he is accused of murdering her and their two children.

Arthur Simpson-Kent, 48, was at Kaneshie Magistrates' Court in Accra today after he was arrested in a small town in the west of the African country on Saturday.

Wearing the same grey T-shirt and jeans he was dressed in when he was detained, the hairdresser was remanded in custody for two weeks.

He left the UK on December 19 following the deaths of his former partner, 43, and their two young sons, Zachary, eight, and four year-old Amon.

Their bodies were found buried in the garden of the family home in Erith, Kent, on January 5, more than three weeks after they vanished.

Scotland Yard is under investigation over why it took so long to call in homicide detectives and find Miss Blake and her two sons.
