Strictly's Jamelia is queen of the dance off

Updated

Loose Women panellist Jamelia says she's finding being in the Strictly Come Dancing dance off so many times funny.

The TV star and singer has landed in the dreaded dance off every Sunday four times so far.

Talking ahead of the prestigious Blackpool Special, which will see the couples performing in the famous Blackpool Tower ballroom, she said: "Being in the dance off stops you from beating yourself up. It reminds you to enjoy yourself when you're doing it because this could be your last dance."

She and partner Tristan MacManus landed up alongside Jeremy Vine in last week's dance off, but the judges opted to save her.

She said: "Obviously being in the dance off so many times, I don't know, I'm finding it funny now. But Tristan is brilliant at helping me see the positives - I've danced more than anyone else, the judges are voting me back in. I just feel like I get the opportunity to show the judges immediately I've listened to what they said and here's me applying it."

Coronation Street's Georgia May Foote is currently leading the scoreboard after scoring three 10's for her Charleston last week.

Foote and her partner Giovanni Pernice dazzled the judges, earning 39 points in total.

Even the normally critical Craig Revel Horwood was bowled over, saying to the couple: "Three letters. L.U.V."

Another of the favourites, TV star and singer Peter Andre will be doing a jive this week to Tina Turner's 'River Deep, Mountain High'.

The singer revealed he's loving being able to relax his diet a little, thanks to all the dancing he's doing.

He said: "You know how nice it is to eat what you want and not have to worry. I've had Macca's (McDonald's).. all the things I would never touch because I hit my 40s.. I'm eating everything.

"I lost, when I first started, around four kilograms, I got down to the weight I was in my Mysterious Girl video."

When asked about any Strictly romances behind the scenes, BBC presenter Anita Rani said: "If there are any, they are the most secret ones ever because we don't know anything."

EastEnders star Kellie Bright said this is the first week her schedule has calmed down slightly.

She said: "I've had a week off EastEnders, it's been my first week off actually just being able to think of the dancing and it's been amazing.

"To be honest, I needed it. I hit a wall a couple of weeks ago. If the whole EastEnders/Strictly experience was like a marathon, I'd say two weeks ago I hit my 17 mile mark.

"I'm going to fall over and either lie in a heap crying, or I have to push through this and come out the other side. And now I feel like I've got over that hump."

Bright and her partner, Kevin Clifton, will be Quickstepping to Dolly Parton's 'Nine To Five'.
