Rape suspect absconds during court hearing
Police are hunting a rape suspect who absconded from custody while attending a court hearing.
Jack McRae, 23, was at a preliminary hearing at Southampton Crown Court for an upcoming rape trial having been transported from prison.
He absconded from the courtroom at around 10.51am on Tuesday.
He was wearing a grey T-shirt and dark trousers with a belt.
He is described as a white male, brown hair, proportionate build, 180cm tall, and does not have facial hair.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: "If you see him, please call 999 immediately. Although he is not considered a danger to the general public, we would advise you not to approach him.
"Anyone found to be assisting him could face criminal action if they've committed an offence."
