Police launch Facebook plea to find missing chocolates woman

Updated

A police force has appealed for the public's help on social media to track down a woman who had lost her Belgian chocolates.

The Facebook post on the Nottinghamshire Police page said a holidaymaker had lost the treats after a trip to Belgium.

The force said the missing chocs were found by a man who is looking to reunite them with their owner and added the woman didn't leave contact information as she only wanted to find out how to contact the lost and found department.

The post said: "Our control room took a call over the weekend from a woman who was returning from a holiday to Belgium but had lost her Belgian chocolates en-route.

"She was put through to lost property at Central police station.

"If you were that caller, please get in touch on 101 referencing incident number 456 of August 15 2015. Your chocolates are waiting!"

The force added no officers were spending time investigating and added it was hoping its large Facebook following would help to reunite the chocolates with their owner.
