Peugeot has launched the advertising campaign for its new RCZ coupe and the TV slot has a slightly eerie twist to it.
Like many TV ads, it plays on the emotions involved with driving a sports car and implies a relationship between man and car.
But rather than the beautiful love-fest it could have gone for, Peugeot portrays the RCZ as a mildly deranged stalker, having it follow its chosen prey around the streets, and even onto the roof of a building.
The implication is that the RCZ chooses you and owns you, rather than the other way around. Any suggestion that it is a psychotic obsessive requiring constant attention is of course wide of the mark.
