The future looks bright for Jaguar

Updated

Jaguar is keen to highlight its strong first quarter sales results this morning. The luxury British firm sold twice as many examples of the XF last month as it did this time a year ago, with 2,522 new orders.

Meanwhile sales of the XK coupe and convertible are up by a quarter and overall, Jaguar sales are up by 1.1 percent, despite the tough economic times.

It's all particularly encouraging, according to MD Geoff Cousins, because the firm discontinued the unpopular X Type in November '09 and the new XJ doesn't go on sale until May.
