TV viewers were left fuming after a shake-up saw This Morning and Loose Women replaced by football.

Thursday’s (20 July) instalments of the ITV shows were taken off the schedule to make way for the Women's FIFA World Cup.

This Morning usually airs from 10am until 12.30pm, following on from Lorraine, with Loose Women on air from 12.30pm until 1.30pm.

However, both were scrapped on Thursday.

This Morning tweeted that the show would not be on, telling viewers: “Today we'll be tuning in to the @FIFAWWC on @ITV, so we'll be back on Friday."

While some fans said they were looking forward to the footy, others were unimpressed.

And some posted messages on Twitter suggesting that it wasn’t fair for those who weren’t interested in the sport.

“What?? No #ThisMorning?” one tweeted.

“Why have football on BBC One and ITV, should have been put on ITV2,” suggested someone else.

Another fan agreed, sniping: “Stick it on ITV2 ffs. Leave us to watch #thismorning.”

“No #ThisMorning what are we supposed to do with ourselves?” asked another irritated viewer.

Another stormed: “Why, why, must we be made to endure more bloody football on TV, especially when This Morning should be on.

“Probably 80% of viewers HATE football, we hate it, put it on ITV2 AND ITVX for those sad enough to want to watch it.”
